Meet the Doctor

From the age of 12, Dr. Thompson knew that she wanted to become a dentist. So upon graduating from high school, she left the beautiful island of Barbados and moved to New York to pursue her dreams. The first step on her journey was Brooklyn College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors. From there, she attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where she received her degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. While there, she was inducted into the Matthew Cryer’s Honor’s Society of the Eta Sigma Honorary chapter. She received this award for being in the top ten of her class during the first two years of dental school. In her senior year, she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. It was during her junior year of dental school that she discovered her love for orthodontics. So upon graduation, she attended Howard University in Washington D.C. where she received her certificate in Orthodontics. After graduating, she practiced in New York for 1 year and then moved to Houston where she has been practicing since 1999.

After 25+ years, Dr. Thompson still has a passion for practicing orthodontics. So when you meet her, she will most likely greet you with a big smile. She gets great pleasure from creating lovely smiles and straight teeth. But her greatest pleasure is watching the positive, personal transformations of her patient’s personalities throughout treatment and at the end of treatment.

Dr. Thompson enjoys taking continuing education classes to stay in touch with the most current advances and technologies in dentistry and orthodontics. In turn, she will be able to share those advances with you. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Texas Association of Orthodontics, the Southwestern Association of Orthodontics and, a Clinical Advisory Council Member of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, dancing, listening to music, singing and of course Zumba.
